Just Do It
JUST DO IT… a great punch line, but possibly the three most dangerous words for project management. How can three words, be so wrong for organizations implementing projects?
we can see many Organizations are spending huge amount of money “just doing it” to the wrong things at the wrong time and in the wrong way. Project leaders dive right into implementation, disregarding or misunderstanding the whole of project management as a practice, which requires performing critical steps prior to execution (initiation, planning). In our enthusiasm for responding to a customer requirement We could also witness many project leader turns to their engineers and say, “you start development and I will go find out what the customer really wants”.
This is an inappropriate approach of doing a project a true project manager should refrain from this approach, and clarify the correct approach of initiating the project.
